The perfect combination- Pinafores and vintage embroidery.
What better way to showcase a vintage embroidered table cloth than as a sweet little pinafore-style dress? That’s right. This adorable dress was made from a vintage table cloth. And, embroidered with blue and pink flowers, it’s perfect for Spring 😍
I can’t believe Spring is just right around the corner. Here on our little Island, it already looks and feels like it! The daffodils are already blooming and woodland creatures are coming out of hiding. I love this time of year.
There is a little nature trail near our house that Anna loves to walk. It has a couple of ponds where she likes to look for salamanders. She can’t touch them (salamanders have toxins in there skin) but she loves to watch them swim in the water. 😍 Today, we actually had to watch where we were stepping because there were so many of them.
For this dress, I used the latest pattern from The Sew What Club. The Penny Pinny from Sewing in No Man’s Land is one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen and perfect for this vintage table cloth.
Sadly, my photos just don’t do the embroidery justice. For some reason I couldn’t get my settings right and they all came out looking a little bleached. This photo shows the colors a little better though. 😍

As much as I love to sew with vintage linens, Anna is in desperate need of some play clothes. She’s growing like a weed and has outgrown most of her more comfortable outfits. For that matter, so are her brothers. Maybe, just maybe, I can manage to whip up something for them too….and get them to take pictures. She’s got 3 older brothers. One of them has got to work with me 😍
