The NEW Deer Creek Dress & Tunic

Yep! It’s another pattern from New Horizons Designs. The Deer Creek Dress and Tunic is available in both women’s and girl’s sizes. So, you know that means matching Mommy and Me outfits for me and my little Anna-Pie. And with the Holidays just around the corner, it’s a perfect option for family photos and festivities ๐Ÿ˜€

***Ok. I have to appologize upfront here. We had the hardest time getting clear pics. We did 2 photo shoots and, for some reason, they all came out blurry and grainy and with bad lighting (or my head was chopped off). It was pretty chilly out though. Too much shivering I guess, lol. These pics are the best of the worst ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyway, back to the dress….

Here are all the options that come with this super versatile pattern:

  • Dress vs. Tunic
  • For dress length, choose from knee-length A-lineย vs. below the knee curved hem
  • Short sleeve, 3/4 sleeve, or long sleeve
  • Optional pockets
  • Women’s sizes xxs – 3x
  • Girl’s sizes 6/12mo – all the way up to size 16!
  • Designed for knits

This dolman-style dress/tunic was designed to be made with knits and has an elestic waistband for a contoured silouette. Dress it up for date night, or throw it on over a comfy pair of leggings for a casual trip in to town. Either way, this is sure to be a staple in your Fall/Winter wardrobe……Well come to think of it, it would be perfect for Spring/Summer too!

With the Holidays approaching, I wanted to make something that would work for get-togethers anad photos, but also keep me comfortable while doing it. I am alllll about staying comfortable! I chose to use this burgandy waffle sweater knit I got in a mystery sweater box from Knitpop (I LOVE their mystery boxes). It wasn’t necasarily on the list of indicated fabrics for this pattern though. But as my parents would probably tell you, I’ve always been inclined to bend the rules. And guess what!….

Waffle sweater knit + Deer Creek = The coziest (not to mention stylish) sweater dress EVER!

For my dress, I chose to use the A-line option with short sleeves.

I went with a tunic length and long sleeves for Anna. My sweater knit seems to have added a little bulk in the shoulder seams, but it was totally worth it! She loves her cozy new top ๐Ÿ˜‰
